What we grow

Microgreens and edible flowers

Questions and answers

What are microgreens?

Young plants harvested after one to three weeks, once the first leaves appear. You eat the seed leaves and stem, not the root.

How are they different from sprouts?

Sprouts grow for a few days in water, without light, and are eaten with seed and root. Microgreens grow longer, in a growing medium and in light. We cut them above the medium, without roots or seeds.

How should I store them?

In a closed container in the fridge at 2–4 °C. Most varieties keep their quality from a few days to a week or more. Keep basil and flowers cool, but away from the coldest part of the fridge. Shelf life is printed on the label.

Do I need to wash them?

They grow in a clean room and are cut above the medium, ready to use. Water shortens their shelf life. If you prefer to rinse, do it just before serving and pat dry gently.

How do I order?

Sales have not started yet; the farm is still being prepared. Write to kontakt@v6m.pl and we will reach out with a sample before launch. For restaurants we will propose a regular delivery plan.

Are the flowers really edible?

Yes, we grow them as food, without plant protection products. Only eat flowers grown for food, never from a florist or a flower bed. People allergic to the daisy family, such as chamomile, should try calendula with care.
